About the project
Our project began with a thorough immersion in the oenological process. We aimed to assimilate all the knowledge of the field and production, harmonizing the various disciplines involved in this enchanting process.
In response to these demands, our project celebrates the location and tradition of the region where it is situated. Nestled between São Paulo and Minas Gerais, it resides in one of the most traditional coffee regions in our history – a land characterized by the warmth of our typical "Caipira" hospitality and rich conversations.
We envisioned a simple structure, perched atop a hill and oriented towards the Chapel of Santa Clara, a masterpiece by Oscar Niemeyer, located on another hill 10 kilometers away.
Our goal was to intervene minimally in the breathtaking landscape. We buried much of the program underground, especially those spaces requiring climate control and protection from the region's intense sunlight. The prominent volume boasts a simple, archetypal house form, embodying the owners' desire to produce a homemade wine infused with "Caipira" affection, yet utilizing the latest in modern technology.

This structure is supported by a 7-meter cantilever, creating a grand overlook where we situated the professional tasting room, gracefully resting atop a reservoir that doubles as a natural water mirror. A roof adorned with traditional tiles, though constructed using Glued Laminated Timber, emphasizes the juxtaposition of tradition and modernity. The underground concrete structure, with its clean, defined lines, provides the serene environment necessary for wine storage and production.
