Porteño Roots
Comfort and Nostalgia around a Parrilla. This project entails the renovation of an apartment in São Paulo, tailored for a family hailing from the Southern region of Brazil, who spent a significant portion of their lives in Buenos Aires.

About the project
Our primary challenge lay in expanding the social spaces while aiming for maximum integration.
The presence of a typical Argentine Parrilla served as the catalyst for creating a social area geared towards gastronomy and fostering family and friends' gathering.
The strong presence of Tauari, a Brazilian wood, in panels and linings, brings the desired comfort to the environment, referencing the traditional "Roble", widely used in projects in the Argentine capital.

We created a wooden box with panels 20 cm wide, juxtaposed, creating a rhythmic continuity that helps to mimic interferences, imparting a sense of fluidity and spatial continuity. A panel of ebonized wood discreetly conceals the large television, equipment, wine cellars, and bar, lending an air of austerity to the living space. The carefully selected furniture evokes the shared memories of the Gaucho tradition, characterized by an abundance of leather and natural materials, further enhancing the sense of nostalgia and cultural connection.
